Question: What is the role of scholars, du’āt and preachers (i.e. imāms) regarding what is happening to Masjid al-Aqsa, the attempts to desecrate – in fact – potentially even demolish it?
Response: The responsibility regarding Masjid al-Aqsa – in fact all masjids belonging to Muslims – is a tremendous one. However, Masjid al-Aqsa [is of greater importance as] it is one of the three masjids to which a [religious] journey is undertaken; and it is among the Masjids of the Prophets – may peace be upon them. Therefore, Muslims must defend it with all they possess until it is freed from the grip of the [oppressive] disbelievers and Jews.
This obligation is upon all Muslims generally, not just on an individual alone – each according to their ability and capacity, even if it is through explanation and clarification, or communicating with officials and people of authority, urging them to make efforts to free Masjid al-Aqsa.
Each Muslim must strive, to the extent of his capability, to condemn and denounce this great evil, and demand the liberation of Al-Aqsa from the hands of the Jews.
Masjid al-Aqsa will only be liberated by Muslims – only the truthful, sincere Muslims will liberate it…
Relief is coming, as Allāh wills, and it is near. Allāh, the exalted & majestic, will not abandon Masjid al-Aqsa, he will never forsake it. The actions of these morally vile people are not hidden from him; nothing escapes his knowledge, but he delays them for an appointed time.

السؤال: ما هو دور العلماء والدعاة والخطباء تجاه ما يتعرض له المسجد الأقصى من محاولات التدنيس بل قد تصل إلى الهدم؟
الاحابة: الواجب عظيم في هذا المسجد الأقصى وجميع مساجد المسلمين، لكن المسجد الأقصى هو أحد المساجد الثلاثة التي يشد إليها الرحال ، وهو من مساجد الأنبياء عليهم الصلاة والسلام.
فيجب على المسلمين أن يدافعوا عنه بكل ما أوتوا حتى يخلصوه من وطأة الكفار واليهود، الواجب على المسلمين عموماً لا على فرد من الأفراد فقط كل بحسب استطاعته ومقدرته ولو بالبيان والتوضيح ولو بالاتصال بالمسئولين وولاة الأمور وحثهم على العمل على تخليص المسجد الأقصى، فيجتهد المسلم حسب ما يستطيع من إنكار هذا المنكر العظيم، والمطالبة بتخليص المسجد الأقصى من أيدي اليهود…
ولن يخلَّص المسجد الأقصى إلا المسلمون، أبداً لن يخلَّصه إلا المسلمون الصادقون… فالفرج قادم إن شاء الله، والفرج قريب، والله جل وعلا لن يضيَّع المسجد الأقصى، لن يضيَّعه أبداً، ولا يخفى عليه أعمال هؤلاء الأرجاس لا يخفى عليه ذلك ولكنه سبحانه يؤخرهم إلى أجل مسمى . نعم.
