The doors of success

Reference: Al-Fawāid, p. 169

Shaqīq Ibn Ibrāhīm said:

“The doors of success have been closed upon the creation because of six things:

  1. Their preoccupation with the blessings of Allāh instead of thanking Allāh for them.
  2. Their desire for knowledge while they abandon actions.
  3. Their hastiness to sin and delaying repentance.
  4. Their deception of having righteous companions and not taking them as role models.
  5. Chasing the worldly life whilst it turns away from them.
  6. Turning away from the Hereafter while it approaches them.”
