Six matters to attain knowledge [Poetry]

أَخِـي لَنْ تَنَالَ العِلمَ إِلَّا بِسِتَّةٍ   …   سَأُنْبِیكَ عَنْ تَفصِیلِهَا بِبَیَانِ

“My brother, you will never attain knowledge except with six…

 I will inform you of their details with clarity;

 

ذَكَاءٌ وحِرصٌ وَاجتِهَادٌ وَبُلغَةٌ   …   وصُحبَةُ أُستَاذٍ وَطُولُ زَمَانِ

Intelligence, enthusiasm, striving hard and sustenance…

the companionship of a teacher, and a long time.”
