Question: [Your] Eminence, Shaykh: I used to visit people of goodness, scholars, and shaykhs, but sometimes I visit the homes of the People of Bid’ah. My intended objective in doing so is to call them to the path of happiness, the path of the Sunnah. Is there any sin in this? [May you be] rewarded.
Response: In the name of Allāh, ar-Raḥmān (the most merciful), ar-Raḥīm (the bestower of mercy).
All praise is for Allāh; may Allāh send salutations of praise and peace upon the Messenger of Allāh, upon his family and companions, and whoever follows his guidance. Thereafter:
Visiting the people of knowledge, and imān, from among Ahlus Sunnah wal-Jamā’ah; and visiting brothers for the sake of Allāh, is a means of seeking close need [to Allāh]; and it is an act of obedience.
As for visiting the people of bid’ah, then it is not permissible to visit them for the sake of socialising, and showing affection, and other similar reasons.
However, if a student of knowledge visited them to admonish, remind and warn [them] them from bid’ah, then he is to be thanked, and is rewarded, because this is from the angle of da’wah to Allāh; enjoining what is right; and forbidding evil.
So, if you visit those people who have some form of bid’ah with them, but you visit the, to call them to Allāh, for sincere advice and guidance, then you are rewarded, and you should not abandon this visiting if there is a benefit in it. However, if they persist [upon their bid’ah], and they do not respond [to your advice and admonishment], then leave them.

السؤال: سماحة الشيخ، كنت أقوم بزيارة أهل الخير والعلماء والمشايخ، ولكنني أحيانًا أقوم بزيارة بيوت أهل البدع، وقصدي بذلك أن أدعوهم إلى طريق السعادة وإلى طريق السنة، هل يكون هذا فيه إثم؟ مأجورين.
الجواب: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم.
الحمد لله، وصلى الله وسلم على رسول الله، وعلى آله وأصحابه ومن اهتدى بهداه، أما بعد:
فزيارة أهل العلم والإيمان من أهل السنة والجماعة، وزيارة الإخوان في الله قربة وطاعة، أما زيارة أهل البدع فلا تجوز زيارتهم على سبيل المؤانسة والمحبة، ونحو ذلك.
أما إذا زارهم طالب العلم للموعظة والتذكير والتحذير من البدعة؛ هذا مشكور ومأجور؛ لأن هذا من باب الدعوة إلى الله، من باب الأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر.
فإذا زرت هؤلاء الذين عندهم شيء من البدع زرتهم للدعوة إلى الله والنصيحة والتوجيه، فأنت مأجور، وينبغي أن لا تدع ذلك إذا كان فيه فائدة، أما إذا أصروا ولم يستجيبوا فدعهم.
