Shaykh ‘Abdul-‘Azeez as-Sad.haan (hafitha-hullaah ta’aala) said:
And from his beautiful and cultured [approach in] writing, [was] his statement:
Certainly, placing the line above the words you want to draw attention to is from the manner of our scholars, in line with the manner of the scholars of hadeeth. As for placing a line below the words, then it is from the manner of the Europeans, and we have been commanded to differ from them.

قال الشيخ عبدالعزيز السدحان حفظه الله تعالى:
و من لطيف ثقافته الكتابية قوله، رحمه الله:
“إن وضع الخط فوق الكلمات المراد لفت النظر إليها هو صنيع علمائنا تبعا لطريقة المحدثين، و أما وضع الخط تحت الكلمات فهو من صنع الأوربيين، و قد أُمرنا بمخالفتهم.“
